News

The HighStone has been renamed the EagleLedge. We need queens.

We all know that the Falcon/Breeze/Cedar prophecy was, obviously, a failure. Should we have a second one? Any ideas for it? Vote on the poll and tell me your ideas at the Information Page!

Also, look at the history of FalconClan, named The Feathers of a Falcon (its in the sidebar, under "Important Pages")

I've changed the limit of cats per person from 6 to no limit at all. However, don't go crazy with your number of cats, or I may ask you to kill or send away one or two of them. Thanks!

The Whispering Storm

Brookstar was giving the details of her dream to Nightclaw when a yowl sounded outside. She exchanged alarmed glances with her deputy, and they both stepped out. Dawnshadow, Brookstar's sister, was leading two she-cats into the camp with her patrol. One was smaller than the other a russet ginger, though she looked like she could take on one of the other older warriors with ease. The other one, a brown tabby, was gazing warily around, seeming like she already know the younger cat, though they looked nothing alike.

"Who're you two?" She sat down in front of them as her sister, Flarestorm, Stormpath, and Hawkflower joined the rest of the clan.
"Storm," the smaller cat replied strongly, looking at the leader challengingly.
"Whisper," the other added, more calmly, though her eyes shone with a threatening light. "Why are we here?"
"Because you two either looked lost or like you could be a clan cat. Or both, more likely," Brookstar responded easily with a lazy flick of her tail. "So, here's our preposition." She was caught in Storm's silver eyes, and suddenly she realized why her name was Storm. "You join our clan, and you get to both protect and be protected, both fight and be fought for, or leave now and never mention our clan to anyone. Of course, we could also kill you, if you'd prefer that option."
"That's alright, thanks," Storm shot back just as coolly. "I'll have a little trial run here, yeah? See what it's like."
Whisper sent Storm a sharp look, but sighed. "It seems like we'll be staying, er..." She trailed off, not knowing Brookstar's name.
"Brookstar," the leader told her, realizing what Whisper meant. "My name is Brookstar, leader of FalconClan."
"Then we'll stay, Brookstar." Whisper gave her a nod.
"Very well."

She jumped onto the EagleStone and called for her clan to gather. "We have two cats joining today," Brookstar announced, and a ripple of interest ran through her cats. "Storm and Whisper." There's already a Stormpath, Brookstar noted to herself, but shrugged mentally. It didn't matter, she supposed.
"Storm and Whisper, do you promise to protect and defend the warrior code and your clan, even at the cost of your very life?"
The two looked uncertain until Dawnshadow nudged them and muttered, "Say 'I do'."
"I do."
"I do." The two voices were certain.
"Then with the powers of StarClan I name you Stormpaw and Whisperstreak. Sunshadow will mentor Stormpaw. We welcome you as apprentice and warrior of FalconClan." Brookstar placed her muzzle on Whisperstreak's forehead, and at Dawnshadow's instructions, she licked her shoulder. Brookstar performed the same procedure with Stormpaw, and the clan cheered, seeing the new cats become part of their community.
"Stormpaw! Whisperstreak! Stormpaw! Whisperstreak!" They called, and with a murmured, "Show them around," Brookstar disappeared into her den.

Dawnshadow smiled warmly at the two as Sunshadow trotted up and grinned down at Stormpaw. "I've already explained the rules of a clan to them, so I'll show Whisperstreak around, and you start training Stormpaw, alright?" Dawnshadow said to Sunshadow, who nodded his agreement. "Great. Come on, Whisperstreak. I'll show you the warrior's den."

Apology and Prophecy

Hi! Anyway, I'd like to apologize for my absence. I'm really sorry for not being on and all that, but I'm still blogging, so.... sorry, and I hope you all forgive me. Anyway, here's he start of a prophecy! Still not sure exactly what it'lll be about yet, but here's the prompt:

Brookstar, as most leaders probably did, collapsed into her soft nest with a groan. She was exhausted. The life of a leader seemed magnanimous and lofty, but it was really quite tiring. It wouldn't be long until she got too old, and Nightclaw became leader. She closed her eyelids, tucked her nose in her tail, and promptly felt the blackness of slumber take her.

She was in the dark. Well, kind of. There was a full moon where she was, and she seemed to be sitting on some dead grass and leaves. Looking around, the leader realized that this location was rather familiar... strange, she thought. With a sickening pang of fear Brookstar realized that this was her camp. This was the heart of FalconClan, destroyed, gone, abandoned, dead... She stretched her eyes wide and backed away slowly. "No... how could this..."

"You're seeing the future, Brooklight." The voice of Eaglestar, the first leader of FalconClan. Brooklight. She hadn't heard that in so long. It was her warrior name. "You're seeing what'll happen to your clan."

"Eaglestar! I... how could this be? I thought I was a good leader, I thought I lead FalconClan well... will I fail them? Oh, StarClan..." Brookstar shook her head frantically.

"Fear not, Brooklight. What will go on in the future will be affected by what you do. By what your clanmates will do. This is your choice, Brooklight. You can save it or destroy it... Brooklight, what will you do?"

"I'll save it! I'll do whatever it takes... I'll give my life for it, Eaglestar!" Brookstar looked around in a panic, searching for the amber eyes of Eaglestar to look into, to assure...

"Remember, Brooklight, one will come for the Falcon, one will come for the light..." His voice faded away.

"No! No, tell me the rest of the prophecy! Tell me--" She jolted awake, breathing heavily. The round yellow eyes of Nightclaw stared into hers.

"Brookstar? You alright?"

Brookstar shook the prophetic dream away. "Yeah, yeah I..." she hesitated, and then made her decision. "Look, I've got to tell you something."

(the actual prophecy is:
One will come for the Falcon,
One will come for the Light.
And she will come save the Falcon,
She will make all wrong right.

There will be four to aid
To help protect our future
From the inevitable raid
And from the undoubted torture.

So, there'll be four cats (one of you guys!) and help the leader of the five (my character) to help save falconclan! i'll give you the other details later!)

Deleted Allies/Enemies, and Warriors That Are No More

This is not a post as Brookstar or by a cat, but by me, Stormy. I'd like to make a point that since there are some bloggers that have left Blogger (or do not come on FalconClan anymore), their warriors, apprentices, queens, kits, and elders are to be ignored. Basically, don't talk to them, don't choose them for patrol, and simply pretend they are nonexistent. That said, I would also like to say that even though we will ignore them, if asked by the bloggers they will be allowed to be "reincarnated", so I will NOT remove them from the sidebar.

Another thing is that: There are some clans that are either deleted or inactive. Some of these clans are our allies and/or our enemies. This means that you are free to play these "dead" cats from the clans. In other words, feel free to make up border scuffles and battles without having to inform the other clans because, obviously, they're not there anymore. Just pretend they are and play the cats themselves.

Also, in case none of you knew, the new medicine cat is Mistleaf.

That's it. Thanks, and keep commenting!

After the Foxes

Brookstar and all the other cats involved in the recent huge fox battle padded back into the camp, scratched up, fur ruffled, and tired. All the leader wanted to do was curl up in her den and go to sleep, but she had things to do. She jumped onto the EagleLedge, yowling for her clan to gather. “Cats of FalconClan! There has been a recent battle in the Forest, near the Hawthorn wood. We’ve gotten rid of them for now but we’ve also got to have extra patrols to ensure our clan’s safety. Nightclaw, Shadowmist, please would you each lead a patrol now, and Nightclaw, once you come back please tell other cats to lead patrols. Also, we need hunting patrols, as always, so Brookfur, please lead one, and Willowlilly, please also lead one.” She paused, then continued. “And there are also three more things. Violetgaze has... ah, given up her position as medicine cat. to become a warrior or elder. It is her choice. Pinepaw has also decided to become a warrior apprentice. I will appoint a new medicine cat. If there is any cat thinking to take up the post, please tell me after this meeting.
‘There is a new warrior joining us today.” Brookstar looked at the black tom with light green eyes. “His name is Sun. Sun, do you promise to protect and defend the warrior code and your clan, even with your very life?”
“I do, very much so.” Sun’s eyes were determined and sharp with intelligence.

“Then from now on you will be known as Sunshadow, and we welcome you as a full warrior of FalconClan.” Brookstar touched his forehead with her muzzle and he licked her shoulder.
‘Finally, Stormpaw has shown great courage and loyalty to his clan, and though I have had doubts I now strongly believe that it’s finally time to give him his warrior name. “Stormpaw, please come here.”
The gray apprentice, his eyes shining with excitement, bounded up to the EagleLedge. “Stormpaw, do you promise to protect and defend the warrior code and your clan, even with your very life?”
“I do.” The apprentice’s voice was firm and sure.

“Then from this moment on your name will be Stormpath. We honor your bravery and swiftness, and we welcome you as a full warrior of FalconClan.” Stormpath also licked her shoulder while Brookstar touched his forehead with her muzzle.
The clan erupted in cheers for the new warrior; Stormpath was popular among the apprentices, and they were glad that he was now a warrior.

“Stormpath, you will hold silent vigil tonight. For now, Fadingmist will help us will healing. Remember the patrols! Meeting dismissed.” Brookstar, exhausted, turned and headed for her den.

Announcement, Please Read

Stormy's warrior life has kind of died. Should this blog continue? I could, if you want, as I'm an admin... but what do you think?

March Gathering and Good News

Brookstar leaped onto the EagleLedge. "As you all know, tonight is the night of the Gathering. Those going to the gathering with me are:
Nightclaw
Ripplepaw
Violetgaze
Dawnshadow
Talonstrike
Poppyleaf
Snowpaw
Berylmist
Streampaw
Goldenshine
Lionpaw

Ignoring the shocked murmurs around the clan, she mewed, "So Moonblossom will be moving to the nursery. Her apprentice, Ripplepaw, will be temporarily mentored by Nightclaw, my deputy." The leader gave Nightclaw a nod and a slight smile, hoping that with this apprentice he wouldn't be as upset about Silverpaw. "Meeting dismissed!"

Warriors, and Sad News

Brookstar stood on top of the EagleLedge with four she-cats at her side. "Cats of FalconClan!" She yowled. "We have four new cats joining us today. Dark, Holly, Winter, and Leaf." She gestured to the new cats, and the clan cats smiled at him, some of them a little cautiously. "Dark, Holly, Winter, and Leaf, do you four promise to defend and uphold the warrior code and your clan, even at the cost of your life?"
"I do," Leaf and Holly said at the same time.
"I do," said Winter.
"I do," Dark mewed last, firmly.
"Then by the powers of StarClan I name you Darkwing, Hollysplash, Winterpelt, and Leafsong. We welcomes you all as full warriors of FalconClan." Brookstar meowed, and the clan erupted in cheers.
"Darkwing! Hollysplash! Winterpelt! Leafsong! Darkwing! Hollysplash! Winterpelt! Leafsong!"
There was a moment of yowling and "congratulations!", then Brookstar waved her tail for silence. "And I would also like to announce some sad news." She hesitated, glancing at Moonblossom, Leafpaw, and Darkflame, who were looking especially sad. "Silverpaw is dead." There were gasps from the cats below her. Nightclaw, the deputy, lowered his head to hide the tears threatening to spring out of his eyes as he mourned his dead apprentice. Brookstar glared at them all for silence before continuing. "He was hunting large birds of prey with the rest of Moonblossom's patrol when he slipped and fell into the Cloudy Gorge, where they thought would be the best place to find these birds. So, may we all take Silverpaw's death as a warning - the rule of apprentices under nine moons, kits, queens, and elders being strictly prohibited to go to the Cloudy Gorge will be reinforced, and we should all be careful when hunting this type of prey. Silverpaw died young, with a life that should have stretched farther along the lines of time. We will all mourn his death. Tonight those who were closest to him will hold his vigil, and tomorrow morning at dawn the elders will take him out of camp to be buried." Brookstar finished, and then added as a bit of an afterthought: "But let us not be too saddened by this event; life must go on. Return to your duties. Meeting dismissed!" With that, the silver, white, and black leader leapt off the EagleLedge and into her den.

A New Prophecy

Okay, people! Fflight or Stormy here. Whatever you want to call me. So, this isn't a post as Brookstar or anything, because obviously she doesn't know about... THE PROPHECY!!!!!!! Right. The prophecy, as Willowmoon and WCL92 know, is about a couple of evil cats who will join the clan, along with their rogue followers, and after they are fully accepted and trusted by the clan, they will tear out the clan from within. That is, unless five prophecy cats stop it from happening. So we will need at least two evil cats and five prophecy cats. Join below! (BTW, the two most evil cats will also have powers like the prophecy cats)

Evil Cats-
Chillingheart, with the power of extreme fighting abilities (like Lionblaze from the Warriors Series)
Secretpaw, with the power of disappearing into the shadows

Prophecy Cats-
Azurefern, with the power of mind reading and minor mind control
Nightshadow, with the power of extreme stealth and/or invisibility
Shadowmist, with the power of looking into the future from time to time
Willowkit, with the power of telekineses
Barkpaw, power undetermined

To join, you will need to tell us the name of the cats and his/her power.

Healing Herbs Reference

This is a list of healing herbs for reference, made for either warriors needing the knowledge, medicine cat apprentices, or medicine cats who just need a little reminder. These are just the basic herbs that medicine cats need to know about daily.

Borage Leaves - To be chewed and eaten. The plant can be distinguished by its small blue or pink star-shaped flowers and hairy leaves. Great for nursing queens as it helps increase their supply of milk. Also brings down fever.

Burdock Root - A tall-stemmed, sharp-smelling thistle with dark leaves. A medicine cat must dig up the roots, wash off the dirt, and chew them into a pulp, which can be applied to rat bites.

Catmint (or catnip) - A delicious-smelling, leafy plant that's hard to find in the wild; often found growing in Twoleg gardens. The best remedy for greencough.

Chervil - A sweet-smelling plant with large, spreading, fernlike leaves and small white flowers. The juice of the leaves can be used for infected wounds, and chewing the roots helps with bellyache.

Cobweb - Spiderwebs can be found all over the forest; be careful not to bring along the spider when you take the web! Medicine cats wrap it around an injury to soak up the blood and keep the wound clean.

Coltsfoot - A flowering plant, a bit like a dandelion, with yellow or white flowers. THe leaves can be chewed into a pulp, which is eaten to help shortness of breath.

Comfrey - Identifiable by its large leaves and smal bell-shaped flowers, which can be pink, white or purple. That fat black roots of this plant can be chewed into a poultice to mend broken bones or soothe wounds.

Dock - A plant similar to sorrel. The leaf can be chewed up and applied to soothe scratches and sore pads.

Dried Oak Leaf - Collected in the autumn and stored in a dry place. Stops infections.

Feverfew - A small bush with flowers like daisies. The leaves can be eaten to cool down body temperature, particularly for cats with fever or chills.

Goldenrod - A tall plant with bright yellow flowers. A poultice of this is terrific for healing wounds.

Honey - A sweet, golden liquid created by bees. Difficult to collect without getting stung, but great for soothing infections or the throats of cats who have breathed smoke.

Horsetail - A tall plant with bristly stems that grows in marshy areas. The leaves can be used to treat infected wounds. Usually chewed up and applied as a poultice.

Juniper Berries - A bush with spiky dark green leaves and purple berries. The berres soothe bellyaches and help cats who are having trouble breathing.

Lavender - A small purple flowering plant. Cures fever.

Marigold - A bright orange or yellow flower that grows low to the ground. The petals or leaves can be chewed into a pulp and applied as a poultice to wounds. Stops infection.

Mouse Bile - A bad-smelling liquid that is the only remedy for ticks. Dab a little moss soaked in bile on a tick and it'll fall right off. Wash paws thoroughly in running water afterward.

Poppy Seed - Small black seeds shaken from a dried poppy flower, these are fed to cats to help them sleep. Soothes cats suffering from shock an distress. Not recommended for nursing queens.

Stinging Nettle - The spiny green seeds can be administered to cats who have swallowed poison, while the leaves can be applied to a wound to bring down swelling.

Tansy - A strong-smelling plant with round yellow flowers. Good for curing coughs, but must be eaten in small doses.

Thyme - This herb can be eaten to calm anxiety and frayed nerves.

Watermint - A leafy green plant found in streams or damp earth. Usually chewed into a pulp and then fed to a cat suffering bellyache.

Wild Garlic - Rolling in a patch of wild garlic can help prevent infection, especially for dangerous wounds like rat bites.

Yarrow - A flowering plant whose leaves can be made into a poultice and applied to wounds or scratches to expel poison.

More New Cats and a Change

Brookstar was once again on the HighStone, pride and happiness making her blue eyes shine. Her clan was now huge - though they still had mouths to feed, they could now overcome almost everything. "Will all cats old enough to hunt their own prey, please gather here below the HighStone!" She waited patiently as the cats, young and old, gathered below her. "We have two new strong warriors joining us today!" She announced, then turned to the two sisters. "Brookfur and Willowlilly, do you two promise to defend and uphold the warrior code and your clan, even at the cost of your life?"
"I do," came the unhesitant and firm reply.
"Then I confirm your warrior names and welcome you as a full warrior of FalconClan!" Brookstar smiled.
"Brookfur! Willowlilly! Brookfur! Willowlilly!" The clan cheered the two new warriors.
Brookstar let her clan yowl the newly made warriors' names for a couple heartbeats before waving her tail for silence.
She paused and took a deep breath before continuing. "We all know that the rock I am standing on at the moment is called the HighStone for its tremendous size," she told the clan. "But perhaps the name does not tell its true meaning, and does not describe it enough. So I am renaming this announcement-boulder." There were a couple gasps, and a murmur swept throughout the clan. Brookstar sent them all a fierce glare to quiet them before continuing. "From this moment on, this rock will be named the EagleLedge in honor of our founder, Eaglestar," Brookstar declared, and many cats below her nodded in approval. "Are there any objections?"
.....
"I thought so. Meeting dismissed!"

New Cat

Brookstar stood on top of the HighStone, watching over her clan as they gathered beneath her. She began the meeting. "Today we have a new warrior in FalconClan, Oakfang. Please welcome him!"
"Oakfang! Oakfang!" The clan cheered.
"I would also like to say that the mountain hunting bird training has been coming along quite well. I believe it is possible to start hunting those. So, I would like Moonblossom to lead her first mountain bird hunting patrol out today after this meeting." Brookstar paused, surveying her clan. "Alright. Meeting dismissed!" She leaped off the HighStone and went back to her den.

January Gathering

Brookstar watched her clan gather below her under the HighStone. "The Gathering is tonight! The cats that I will bring with me are:
Nightclaw
Violetgaze
Stormtalon
Flarestorm
Shadowmist
Fadingdust
Hawkflower
Moonblossom
Berylmist
Crowflight
Skyblaze
Nightshadow
Shadownight
Waterfeather
Streampaw
Silverpaw
Leafpaw
Bluepaw
Cherrypaw
Briskpaw
and Snowpaw."
Brookstar looked around at her clan, seeing expressionless, excited, and disappointed faces. "Darkflame will be in charge of camp when we are gone. Let's go!" She called, leaping off the HighStone.

(The Jan. Gathering is only on Silverstar's blog, not Alado's blog)

Shadowmist

Brookstar looked down at her clan, proud at the fast rate of growth in it. "Today we have a cat joining us, as a warrior." She turned to the black and white she-cat beside her. "Shadowmist, do you promise to uphold and defend the warrior code, even at the cost of your life?"
"I do." The she-cat's voice was resolute.
"Then I confirm your warrior name, and we welcome you as a full warrior of FalconClan." Brookstar put her muzzle on the new warrior's head, and Shadowmist licked her shoulder.

When the cheering had died down, Brookstar waved her tail for attention again. "The plan for the training for hunting is complete. There will be two training sessions a day, with the clan split into six groups to train. Two of the four teachers will lead each session. This way, every cat will have one training session every three days. These training sessions will be held at the training hollow. The first session, tomorrow at dawn, will be:
Silentecho, Silverpaw, Streampaw, Leafpaw and their mentors, led by Darkflame and Moonblossom.
The second session, tomorrow at sunhigh, will be:
Flarestorm, Stormtalon, Goldenshine, and Frostpelt, with their apprentices if they have one, led by Hawkflower and Skyblaze." Brookstar finished her speech, then nodded to her clan. "Meeting dismissed!" She meowed audibly, then leapt off the HighStone.
